As the new owner (November 2008), I am in awe of what outstanding things the former owner and founder has created.  I have simply inherited this outstanding group of wonderful people, products, and absolute fun.

It is my great pleasure to leave Shellye's description of what Life Preservers Scrapbook Club is, where it orginated, and her comments and obvious dedication posted here... at least for a time while I get my feet wet.

I share her enthusiasm, love for the members, and dedication to continuing what she founded:  A real online home for us all.

Life Preservers Scrapbook Club got its start in the Spring of 2002!  Like a lot of stay-at-home-moms, I wanted to make some sort of contribution to the monthly income and at the same time support the hobby that I had grown to love....scrapbooking!  I began by researching online scrapbook stores.... there were so many to choose from and the question "how would I stand out?" came to mind.  Then one night while rocking my daughter, I zoned in on a stuffed pelican holding a life preserver.  What does a life preserver do?  It keeps things afloat....it saves and preserves...just like I'm trying to do with our photos!  From there many ideas evolved, but I still needed to find a niche.  Online kit clubs were few and far between at that time so I decided to give it a-go.  Over five years have now passed;  we have welcomed scrapbook members from all over the country, Canada and abroad...I enjoy the same amount of excitement when a new members joins today as I did that very first day! 

Through our Message Board I have met so many wonderful and talented ladies and am delighted to call them all dear friends.  In April 2007, several of us got together at a scrapbook convention in St. Louis.....what fun!
We are planning our very own Life Preserver Scrap Retreat next year in Elizabethtown, Kentucky and I simply cannot wait to see all of my St. Louis scrappin' buddies and meet new friends.
